Kate Capshaw is an actress, producer, and director best known for her roles in films such as "Jurassic Park" (1993) and "The Sweet Hereafter" (1997). She was born in Detroit, Michigan, and moved to Los Angeles at the age of ten. A graduate of Yale University's School of Drama, Capshaw has appeared on television in numerous shows including "Sex and the City", "NYPD Blue", "My So-Called Life", "Love Boat", "Friends", and "Baywatch". She made her film debut in the 1984 comedy film "Eight Men Out".
